Considering the complexity of the work
microtubules have to do within each cell, particularly in neurons,
they must have some method of integrating their work with the rest of the organism.
There is a theory that microtubules have the ability to conduct physical vibration.
A vibration introduced into one end can propagate unchanged throughout its length.
In turn, this activity could possibly start other neighboring microtubules
to vibrate with the same pattern.
